Using Adobe After Effects To Make Your Videos Awesome

Post-Production

Maybe you’ve got the basics down for creating videos and you want to take it to the next level.  ‘What’s next?’, you say.  “Adobe After Effects”, we say.

After Effects is a motion graphics, visual effects and compositing program that allows you to create amazing titles for your videos as well as other visual effects.  Here are the top 3 uses for After Effects:

1) Titles:  Make some sweet motion graphics to extend your brand and kick off each video with a bang.

2) Colour correction:  If you want a cinematic look, After Effects lets you grade the colour on your video and apply filters.

3) Animation: Besides titles, After Effects can be used to create 2D animation as well as 2.5D and 3D (with some special plug-ins)

If you’re eager to get started, download a free trial over at the Adobe website:

There’s a learning curve for After Effects, but we suggest you try out Videocopilot’s basic training and soon you’ll be creating titles in no time. Videocopilot also has more than 100 advanced tutorials that teach you higher levels of After Effects including visual effects, and compositing.

One last tip, if you don’t want to create titles from scratch, you can purchase a title template from a site like VideoHive.  However, you’ll still need those After Effects skillz to customize the template and make it look exactly the way you want.
